Want your cell phone to meow and bark like your favorite pet? You can do it with ringtones downloaded from the new Purina.com web site. The pet care company last week launched the site offering ringtones, wallpapers, SMS alerts, podcasts and even RSS feeds. There are five available ringtones, including the Purina jingle as well as the requisite animal sounds. The SMS alerts will deliver pet care tips to users who sign up for the service, and the podcasts will utilize audio content from “Ask the Vet,” a program that Purina has long produced for a local radio station in St. Louis. Purina hopes to popularize the new features by advertising on Yahoo, AOL and PetFinder.com.

this reminds me of those damn things on comedy central and other tv stations for those cell ring tones and backgrounds. i almost threw my TV out of my window, please dont make me throw my monitor. once these sneaky bastiges make these ring tone ads as computer popups ill throw myself out the window.
