Making a good guy enemy group coming after evil pc's...

Sir ThornCrest

First Post
I am DMing this week and I am thinking of building a party of good doers whom are hunting my players evil pc's. The Pc's have gone from town to town killing and sacrificing its locals. So far Im thinking of...

CG Rogue 6th level relative killed by pc's
CG Ranger Kor worshipper
LG Palidon of Heironious 8th level
LG Cleric of Kor 6th
? Warmage....?

+6 3rd level fighters Guards and fanatical worshipers of the Kor temple desicrated by the party.
4 3rd level fighters Guards and fanatical worshipers of Heronious.

the two different religions exist in same town, and have joined together, strength in numbers, they want revenge! Well the good guys call it justice!

looking for new and interesting build idears? I would even change classes coming after the pc's...interested in a warmage of suitable level to really give them a run for their money!

The pc party is currently
NE 10th Warlock (invisibility, eldricht spear, flight, earth fist)
LE 10th Cleric of Hextor
LE 10th Cleric of Hextor
NE 10th Assassin
LE 10th Cerebramancer

+ surviving cha followers
LE 5th fighter (devoted defender)
NE 5thRogue
LE 5th Fighter (archer based)

ANY THOUGHTS ON BUILD IDEAS TO SEND AGAINST MY PC'S I WOULD LOVE THANKS

Do the good guys know where the pilliaging is going to take place next, is there a logical sequence or dirction to the destruction?? My point is, if the good guys have an idea where the next attacks will be, could a messenger have arrived ahead of the PC's and have the town ready to fight?? IF so, could the good guys be there waiting to defend and/or repell the attack?

Talk about the element of surprise!

not so much an attack, they will go to a farm house and sac whole family.

The party chasing after them is lead by a cleric or two and a Palidon, augury(?) or other divination spells used by clerics to ask questions will lead them to the pc's.

That still shouldn't be a problem. If the "good" guys can get ahead of the PC's and lay in wait at the farm house or in a barn, the battle could be fought in the yard, limiting the area and places for concealment....

Hey Thorncrest, would you mind if I posted a Paladin for ya?

Will have it ready for tomorrow.

By the way, you REALLY need to bump up the levels of those good guys or they are going to get a good kickin'.

My group had a similar situation quite some time ago in which our DM decided he needed an evil group to challenge us. As far as I'm aware they were at least equal to us in number and level and I think the leader was slighlty higher...........and they were all mounted on undead wyverns which had some horrible gaseous breath weapon; it was most unpleasant! We realised pretty quickly that we needed to split them up to defeat them and even then they gave us a good run for our money!

Lower level NPCs are going to get spanked. Consider having a 14th lvl monk with the vow of poverty (BoED) join the posse. They should be able to beat him by working together, but it'll be a tough fight. . . and if they kill him, his church and monastary will want revenge! Nothing sucks more than a bunch of tough enemies who have no treasure. :D

Now that just really sticks it in deep man; is tormenting your own players not enough?

Also, I go with the direction of BOED....good may be stupid, but its not just plain more powerful than evil:)

I'd say have the NPCs be more powerful overall than your party....your party has flexibilities they don't for being evil....and may have to use them to win the day.

I was interested in a couple of new builds

Give my pc's something new, from another mind. Does any one out there have a good Warmage outline? VS. a solid 10th level group? That is has anyone played the
Warmage and have a feat & spell suggestion list, any hints? I will even play him the way you suggest (unless its suicidal of course).

Hey Stalker,
My thoughts exactly I wanted to give them a 11 or 12 level Warmage + the Palidon and cleric and all the 3rd level fanatical worshippers. But I have never ran a Warmage nor have I had the chance to read them up.
ps: whats BOED?
