D&D General Malhavoc the Character

As I understand it, Monte Cook named his original company after a character of his named Malhavoc.

Am I right on this? Do we know anything about the character?

That's true. I vaguely recall Monte mentioned at some point that Malhavoc was a chaotic evil wizard, but I don't know if he ever gave any more details than that.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the Shadowstaff major artifact, in the D&D 3.0 DMG, was actually named "The Shadowstaff of Malhavoc."
