Malice of the Medusa (pt-1) [Manzanita judging]

As the group looks about the grounds of the hospice they notice a few pecuilar things. First is the smoothness of the eight foot walls that surround the grounds and building. It looks as if noone could have climbed them unaided, so aedan could have gotten out that way. And second is the gate area. As the group looks about the gates the notice two of Killian's men across the way watching the gate. From their vantage point there is no way they could have missed a man leaving through the gate. After the search of the grounds is complete the group diecides o try looking inside the hospice itself.

"Good work, let's do the first floor next!" Midias suggests.

Reis nods in agreement. He is intent on his searching, and his eyes are lively with interest. "We have ourselves a puzzle all right. Let's see what we can find..."

He moves on to the first floor, again looking for anything unusual, especially any trace of a hidden room or passage.

[sblock=ooc]Ouch. I didn't add in the bonuses for guidance or aid, because I wasn't sure if the spell is still active, but with both that still only comes to 7. Maybe I should take ten or twenty on the next floor, or maybe two of us should search...[/sblock]
 

OOC: Well I did say I was going to cast guidance, wouldn't be fair to take it back now. I can start searching with you, since I'm out of spells, but I beleive I have the lowest modifier.
 

The group tries to search the first floor of the hospice but it is difficult as many of the people who work and live inside it, get in their way. After casting his spell to help Reis, Dane starts to look around also. Viktor again helps as much as possible and Midias oversees everyones progress. After almost a half hour the party has hardly gotten in a "good" search even though they have looked into every room on this level.

[sblock=ooc] ScorpiusRisk rolled a 6 for your search check. You all may search again it's a timing thing that I need to keep track of but you can go through each level searching as often as you like. When I cross off a floor that will indicate it is finished, with nothing to find. [/sblock]
 

Reis looks around in annoyance after searching the first floor. "Too many people around here to find anything useful... let's move on to the second floor. If we find nothing elsewhere, maybe we can come back and look again. I didn't see anything, though."

He shrugs and waves his companions over to the second floor.

"Shall we then search separated?" Midias asks, looking at the struggling search.

[sblock=ooc] It's ok to know what your total rolls are I will just add fluff so if you roll well you will know there is nothing to find and if you roll low you will feel that you should maybe search again. I think you will eventually find some clues i just need to know how long it takes you (what time of day it will be when the next part starts)

Search on hero's you are bound to prevail. :p [/sblock]
 

Frustrated by their lack of progress, and not a terribly patient person to begin with Dane begins to go back the way he came.

"No! You can go upstairs but I am less than satisfied."

[sblock=actions]Dane will take 20 on the first floor.[/sblock]
 

Reis sighs at Dane's stubbornness, watching him turn back and begin to search the first floor inch by inch, with painstaking care.

"Well, if Dane's set on this, perhaps we should each search a different floor, take as much time and care as we can doing it, and then meet back on the first floor to share what we've found. That way at least three of us won't waste time watching while one person searches."

He heads back to the second floor and begins to go over it, more carefully this time.
