I think I'm the only one with the following opinion... :p

Long before Manyshot was written for 3.5, I remember that while we were still in early days of 3.0, I said that a character who has a BAB high enough to shoot more arrows in the same round was possible to imagine both as quickly shooting arrows one after each other OR making a single shot of many arrows at once. I thought I was making a good example about how you can fantasize about heroic things, "image-wise", without changing actual rules (and so avoiding any balance question).

I was disappointed when Manyshot was done, but not because the feat itself, which works just fine. I was disillusioned by the fact that everyone needs a book to tell you the image of what you're doing, otherwise people don't feel entitled to use their fantasy (of course, the feat IS different rules-wise, and thus allows something different strategically speaking, so that was a good thing). In a way, it's the same kind of disillusion I feel when people argue about what a Ninja should be, and how no class among the hundreds written is able to capture the feeling, etc...

It's broken. Rapid Shot should be -3 instead of -2, and Manyshot propagates that problem. Furthermore, Manyshot also breaks the cardinal rule of "if you want more than one attack in a round, you have to use a full attack action."

It don't care at this point whether or not it's realistic, it's too good and violates a core game rule.

plus if you can load and fire multiple arrows you should be able to use the same mechanic for thrown objects too. like shurikens, darts, daggers, knives, hand axes, boulders, bowls of soup, etc...

The Ranger IMC used it to good effect... there are situations where being able to fire two actual arrows is superior to dealing extra damage with a single arrow, such as when the arrows are Holy or Dragon Slaying or what not.

I did not find the feat overpowered.
