MAP Crit requested - Final proof is done!

Thanks much!

Here is the final on the geography.

I shortened up the Gorge river. It will still be a gorge but just not so pronounced.

I made a few more mods to the river systems to make it more correct.

The northern mountain chain has something of a down slope dump because of the coldness of the northern sea. I think it can work that way :)

I shortened some of the monster rivers. Scrapped the river system that now flows into the hills :) And put some distance where I could.

Thanks to everyone for the crits on the map - they are truly appreciated. Your crits will make my map a better map and I took them for exactly what they were - a simple notation of deviencies. I will post the final here when it is done.

Thanks

Randy

Looking good!

Note that the area north of 5c now turns out quite arid as well. Maybe more like a tundra than a desert. The area below 5c looks very lush and tropical, ditto for the westernmost region. Good place for swamps and rainforests.

:)

It is tiaga..leading into tundra. Anagalous geography wise to upper (old borders) Russia.

The area in the west of the inner sea (west most upper arm) is also tundra.

Looks very nice. Did you do the map yourself? If so, you may want to think about freelancing. :)

Two picky bits:

1. The river flowing roughly north in Imbria that splits right before entering the lake. Usuall rivers don't split, but where they do it's almost always very flat land. It doesn't look like it's flat (but that could be a scale thing) because most of the other rivers in the area are rather straight. Rivers on flat lands tend to meander around a lot.

2. I have some assumptions here based upon the map, so let me know what I got wrong. I'm assuming the dotted lines are roads/trade routes. It looks like you have roughly 3 major cultural groups trading: the Middean/Touren/Edanris the Vintria (who may just be a trade off area, like say Karakorum) and the Solon/Khaylish/Dracia/East Solon area. I think there would be sea routes (you may just not be showing them on the map) connecting The city just east of the word "Dracia" and the cities on the coast of Vintria and then I think there should be a city on the coast near Vianden. This would make sense if the area around the Radiant Kingdoms were very hostile to ships going by and you could make the islands east of Isadarather piraty (you cant have pirates without a lot of trade going on. :)).

That's just a suggestion, but I guess what I'm trying to point out is that there will also be ship trade if possible (unless circumstances are just right out) if enough people are willing to trek over land (and through deserts).

Even with that bit, It looks very nice.

The map was done by Keith Curtis who does graphic work for Hero Games (among others). Big kudos to him.

Comments:

1. Nice catch on the river -- I will fix that.
2. The dotted line is the old imperial road system put in place when Vintria dominated the continent.

Regions:
Western States - Sovereign States/Middea/Touren/Numberia/Edanris
The Fallen Kingdoms - Northern barbarian kingdoms that have been overrun by humanoids during the last century.
The Middle Kingdoms - The remains of the collapsed Vintrian Empire.
The Old Kingdoms - South eastern countries that date back nearly a century (Dracia, Imbria, Tsada, & Massand).
The Summer Kingdoms - Kingdoms along the Summer Sea.

-- Water Margins ---
Solon - ruled by the immortal Sorcorer of Solon. A distant and dangerous land.
Khel - Home of the humanoids who invaded the Fallen Kingdoms
The Radiant Kingdoms - Arid kingdoms to the south. Home of the K'Sharin traders and the Isharin zealots who serve the Emissaries of the Jann.
Dire Wastes - A desolate tundra that is home to nothing but various types of Trollkin and Hags.

The only coutries labeled on the map are the larger and established lands.
