Map Generating Programs

What kind of map generating software is out there, free or otherwise? I can create decent maps by hand, but if there's a way to speed up the process and possibly add a little geographical logic, that'd be cool by me.

I like Dundjinni. I like it a LOT. Easy to use and makes good looking maps. Heck, you can even write your adventure up fully within the program!

I personally like AutoREALM. As with all programs like it, there is somewhat of a learning curve, but once I got used to it I found it to be quite powerful. I even created this overland map with the program after about two hours of messing around.

Actually, the adventure creating part of Dundjinni made me fell in love with the program.

For overland maps I'm starting to use Campaign Cartographer, and I've also used AutoRealm.

I have the Campaign Cartographer 3 software. It was a free upgrade for me, because I bought CC2 Pro earlier in the year. Just got my physical copy yesterday. I've played around with it here and there, and have learned to make decent Overland maps by using just the basics.
The basics don't take too long to master, in lare part thanks to the symbol sets (included with the main software or the add-on software). Dundjinni art is compatable with CC3 also, for even more symbols.
My problem is taking the time to learn anything more than the basics.

Yes, AUTOREALM is nice. It's also free. http://www.gryc.ws/autorealm.htm You can make pretty little maps with it. I've used it many, many times.

At 3 MB file size, you can't go wrong.

Your overland map turned out quite cool.

You can use the Civilization computer game (pretty much any version) for this purpose.
