D&D 5E Map Size Starter Set vs PoTA (possible spoilers)

First Post
I was checking out the maps for both adventures since they play out in the same region and even overlap a bit.

I DM the Starter Set and know that one hex represents 5 miles.
For the PoTA one it's 10 miles.

You would imagine that things that are on the Starter Set map are twice as close on the PoTA one then but this doesn't seem to be the case.

The number of hexes between Conyberry and Wyvern Tor seem to be the same for both maps.
As are other things such as the size of the Sword Mountains.

An oversight or am I just seeing things?
Can those with the PoTA adventure tell me if the distance on the maps corresponds with the info given in the adventure description?

Actually, in the Prices of the Apocalypse map, Conyberry and Wyvern Tor are even further apart. Five hexes north to south instead of four. Which means that in Lost Mine, they're roughtly 25 miles apart, but in Prices, they're 50. Some of this is forgivable, as they're hand drawn maps and allowed to be imprecise. Personally, I'd just use the same scale for both, probably assuming 6 mile hexes.

Yea it's pretty well known that the scale of many of the outdoor maps for PotA, especially Dessarin Valley is off compared to several other maps. The easy fix is consider both maps Hex = 6 miles as Jeff stated. It evens out for the most part and puts them both on scale with 'Kingdom Travel' in the DMG.
