Maps

Not exactly what you are looking for, but I am presently obsessed with Pangea. I've experimented withtaking a map of it, inverting it, rotating it, and blasting a corner of it into a cluster of small, scattered islands. The stock paint program that cam with my computer was suboptimal for this...anxious to see what Campaign Cartographer can do with it.

I do not see any watermarking on them. They might have been scanned to line up a bit better but otheriwse I do not have complaints.
Ah, that comforts me. It's just that the buy option only includes a watermarked pdf file, and besides me refusing to buy anything watermarked, if there is one placed it would be malplaced it would be the multiple times it would show up on map.... :\

What do you mean by scanned? It is not an original electronic file.... Goodman Games must have access to an electronic version?

It says that the map is watermarked??? WTF?
Tell me it is not so.
that is a DDR watermark:

These eBooks are digitally watermarked to signify that you are the owner. A small message is added to the bottom of each page of the document containing your name and the order number of your eBook purchase.

Yeah, I know what kind of watermark it is. How cool is it to print out the map and peice it together only to have your name and the order number appear multiple places on the map :( ?!

Can someone who has bought this pdf from Goodman confirm that there are (or aren't) watermarks.

I do not see a watermark on any of the pages.

I do not know how they broke up the map to present it in the manner in which they did and assumed it was a scan because it lined up unevenly.

That would be me. I have also sent an email to Goodman games with a link to this thread. Perhaps someone will drop in and explain why it says they are watermarked but no watermark appears on the pages of the maps.

There are four large poster maps in the boxed set, three are GM maps that stack vertically, one is a player map which is the same as the middle of the three GM maps but without the GM info. For the electronic version, each of the four maps is divided into fifteen pieces, five across by three down, but the pdfs are not uniformly sized, all being roughly 7.5 x 8 or 9 inches. Whether they used the original files or scanned actual maps to make these is actually unknown to me but I have rechecked each of the sixty map segments and, again, I do not see a watermark on any of the pages.

Hello,

The watermarking is undertaken by the PDF reseller (Paizo, Your Games Now, RPGNow, e23, whoever). This is not something provided by the manufacturer (Goodman Games). From reading this thread, it sounds like the reference to watermarking is on the EN World PDF page, which is hosted by RPG Now. If the watermarks are not appearing on the document, that's probably something to do with RPG Now's code... I would suggest contacting them about it.

Hope that helps...

Mark,

Have you printed out any of the pages to see if a watermark (or some other mark) shows up when you print it?

Sorry, no. I picked them up for my laptop use. I have the actual maps, so I have not tried to print the eMaps. Do watermarks not show up on other products on screen when they are called watermarked?
