March 2006 FR Release

*still wants to know if Ari uses SL knowledge as a base line of sorts for shadow magic* I always thought Penumbral Lords were cool but severely lacking in true shadow magic power.

*agress with Kae'yoss* No way they'd do that just to satify a very small number of FR fans.

Well we already have the return of them sort of with initate feats. I still don't much care for it but there you are.

Aaron's seems the most plausible so far, but I have another possible Powers of Faerun definition...

It is a book about the extra-mighty NPCa and Epic Levels in Faerun.
Ah, you mean something like 50 pages about Elminster, how often he exchanges his toothbrush, his favourite wallpaper pattern and excerpts from his first school essay? Intriguing!

I was not aware of this, and thank you for pointing me to it.

I think that WotC has benefitted greatly by the third party publishers' innovations. Besides keeping several people gainfully employed, there are parallels in some third party products and WotC products. For example, Arcana Unearthed uses Hero Points and the use of Action Points in Unearthed Arcana and Eberron has a similar impact on play: granting a character a bonus for expending a point gained as the character rose in level.

So, there may be parallels in Tome of Magic. We will not have any ideas until Ari can talk. So, we must exercise the virtue of patience.

Hmm, I think Kae'Yoss is right that the ELH would not be updated just for the Realms. However, if there is an update in the works, we may see it reflected in some of the products.

So? Who do I have to kill then? ;)

Why kill, when you can go after Bill Gate's bank account?

I suspect if there is enough fan support, Nightfall, that the Scarred Lands could make a comeback . After all, WotC sold the Dragonlance license. So, Sage of the Scarred Lands, do not abandon hope.

I also see some names that I don't recognize on the products. Is anyone familar with their work? (If Ari can't talk about content, maybe he can comment on the background of some of the people whose names I haven't seen on a WotC product before? At least we can give him something to talk about related to the books. :) )

I wonder if Bruce will include his Mindscapes combat in Complete Psion. It was a little buggy (especially if you allowed that feat that let you target the non-psionic, since you effectively got a free minor or medium power out of it, like DR), but was cool. That would be cool. I would expect 3 base classes (Erudite, ?, something oriental), extra prestige classes and feats and powers. Epic rules on Astral Constructs X through infinity would be nice.
