[March Madness] Where's your team?

Hi Michael,

I was born and raised in Lexington. Living in Japan now I don't get much of a chance to visit, but I was there over Christmas and went to the Alcorn State game while I was there.

Feeling was pretty negative on Tubby Smith at the time. Has it improved? I guess it depends on the eventual tourney performance, but I was wondering in the meantime...

Careful will that. I am all for an all-Big East Final Four, being a UConn fan. But recall that just yesterday Florida, a number 2 seed, got wrecked playing in their home state. So no round should be easy from here on out for any of the teams.

Albany, New York isn't Tampa, Florida; Tampa's a little over two hours from Gainesville, but that's about the only commonality. Tampa's a tourist trap (and so relatively cheap and easy to fly to) which has pro baseball and hockey teams, and the Gators aren't the only major-conference college basketball team around. With the exception of a few Canisius and St. Bonaventure fans near Buffalo, upstate NY is pretty much all SU country.

Besides, no one's ever made the final four with lower than an 8 seed.

Ok so here are my predictions for tonights games:

Kentucky over Wisconsin

Marquette over Pittsburgh

Arizona killing Notre Dame

and the closest and best of them all Kansas squizzing by Duke.

What do the rest of you think?

I had Kentucky, Pitt, Arizona, and Duke in my 2nd-chance bracket (and my original one; that side of the draw didn't get hosed by errors in earlier rounds). Tonight I'm going with SU (of course), UConn, Oklahoma, and Michigan State.

Unfortunately, we (University of Richmond) lost in the NIT first round. 6 weeks ago we were second in the A-10, with a 13-6 record. A 2-7 end to the season killed everything.
