[March] What are you watching?

Just watched Punch Drunk Love and thought it was all right. Adam Sandler just does his usual thing, just that he gets really, really angry. I prefered Magnolia and Boogie Nights.

  • The ending of Final Fantasy X when I beat it (hey, I hear it's like a movie). ;)

I was unaware there was actual gameplay.

I just watched Dogtown and Z-boys and Fifteen Minutes along with the shows I normally watch (though I screwed up Futurama and the Simpsons this week, GAH!).

Just watched Batman vs Mr Freeze, which I thoroughly enjoyed more than Daredevil. No need for long intro; swings right into the story.

Also finally watched The Battleship Potemkin. Now I know why it earned its place in cinematic history.

Just watched Minority Report (finally) and The Man Who Wasn't There, which was pretty good for a film about "a barber who wants to be a dry-cleaner." The story somewhat echoes that of Fargo (only no woodchipper).

Watched that in school with a bunch of friends during one of our "Pretentious Movie Nights"; not that the movies were pretentious; we were;) That same night we also watched Salvador Dali's movie Un Chien Andalou with its infamous eyeball cutting scene.

Batman vs. Mr. Freeze? Animated? Are you talkin' about 'Batman: Subzero'?

as i said when i responded to the February post, I watched Panic Room...
unlike the slow February movies I ripped on, this movie was pretty fast moving. had some reidiculously inept characters that really made the overall experience weak, but at no point did i look at the dvd timer as i did through tombstone, alien and conan. wouldnt say it was good. but dont feel the inclination to rip it to shreads either. weird.

since then i've seen
The Ring: don't see what the hype was about. it was ok, nothing more. do people really get scared by this stuff? get a backbone.
Road to Perdition: this movie was good stuff. further proof that i can like slow-paced movies if theyre done right. and everything. about this movie was done right. i had no complaints from beginning to end, this one might make my collection.
a few more episodes of Trigun: my girlfriend continues to be amazed by me picking up things she completely missed when she watched them. i continue to be amazed at how she misses this stuff. :-P
The 2nd Animatrix short: Wow. this is gonna be one great DVD purchase, huh?

Rest of the month: lots of college basketball to go with the regular TV viewing. Might try to catch Dreamcatcher if only for the Animatrix short attached to it.

Going to see a Finnish movie named 'Nousukausi' with a girl next weekend. :)

Also working my way through the anime Samurai Deeper Kyo, and will be receiving the first season of Babylon 5 on DVDs. Me and the gaming group are planning to watch them all straight through on the 22nd. :D

On tv I watch 24 and Miracles- other then that I watch Cspan and news shows.

A buddy is going to lend me a tape of a cartoon series called Reign- the creator of Aeon Flux is involved in it. I liked AF a lot.
