Marked By Destiny, Marked by Tragedy Part 2 (No Judge Yet)

Brelach keeps his eyes open, and looks about nervously. His shoulderblade is beginning to itch, and he scratches it nervously.

"I can sense magic. Should I bother using it? It takes a little bit of energy to do." He mutters, still itching his damned shoulder.

"Not yet--I'm guessing the whole place reeks of foul corrupted magic, so it won't be of any help yet. There will be a time for all things, especially when we figure out who the leader of those kobolds was--kobolds usually don't sit around all day waiting to ambush a hole in the ceiling, at least not without some impetus towards such behaviour. Like when the vile Professor Arthur Doliar hired the bugbear thugs to wait in ambush."

Weapon shoulders the crossbows, tying them to his pack. Taking his flail in hand, he stands tall, waiting to follow.

Always battle ready, Weapon feels the tension in the air and is ready for it.

OOC: Init: 20. Are they a swarm or just a bunch o' rats?

(OOC: Wow, that's ironic--I just realised that so far I've encountered at least one swarm on 100% of all my characters who had a total of no good way to damage swarms in their party (the other two of my characters were Psions with a good AoE attack). I hope we have a torch or can jump back up onto the rope fast  )

The really anoying swarms are those of extremely small creatures. Rats are somewhat larger, so you probably won't need to resort to torches.

(OOC: Oh right, I forgot that you can still deal half damage to them with attacks. Yes, the small swarms can be deadly indeed! The supposedly-CR1 Blood Ooze thingy in Shackled City rings a bell on that note)
