Marked By Destiny, Marked by Tragedy Part 2 (No Judge Yet)

Following the women deeper into the caverns, occasional sights and sound that are obviously out of place keep appearing before you. At first, you see a cavalry charge on some distant plain. Other images include troop movements, parades, gatherings, and other such occasions. From the dated style of dress, the images are clearly from long ago. [sblock=DC 14 Knowledge (History)]The images all appear to date from the War of the Mark period.[/sblock]

"Hmm, this is a vision, like the one you received when the gnome experimented on the Aberrant sample. From that, we can deduce that we are drawing nearer to the source of the taint. Additionally, from the details of the images, we can gather that the images are based on a war. Based on the race of the participants, we know it is post-Dhakaani, but based on the style of dress it is clearly long ago, so not the Last War either. It could be the Galifar-Lhazaar War or the War of Unification, but since we're dealing with Aberrant Dragonmarks, it seems more likely that these images are from the War of the Mark, at least if the clues all match up. I don't suppose we have a history expert who can confirm that, so let's just proceed! Oh goody, it's a real mystery!"

"It really doesn't matter one way or the other. They're all dead and useless now. Unless maybe someone can scare up a spectral seamstress, fix my shirt..."

Silvanon, Rogue 2, Hp: 12/12

After hearing the odd human's continued diatribe on the state of his blouse, Silvanon looks back and forth between his bow strings and the man's back.

"I wonder if the blouse could get any uglier with an arrow sticking out of the back of it." He thinks to himself.

A small grin appears on the elf's lips.

Turning his attention to the figures from days gone by, he finds that they do not hold his interest, and he begins to wander around looking for traps or kobolds.

You reach a large cavern filled with least and lesser abberant marks. There is a woman here examining the marks closely, but before you can get a good look at her or at your surroundings, the caverns about you waiver and fade. You find yourself on a battlefield, dressed in military uniforms and surrounded by about forty similarly garbed soldiers.

"They're coming! Get into formation! Up pikes, ready bows!"

Weapon looks confused a moment, though his ingrained battle training forces him to take up a defensive stance. He glanced around for the others, trying to take note of the formation, 'who' was 'in charge', and the state of 'the enemy'.

Being false does not mean it is less real.

OOC: Weapon tries to figure out the above. :)

"It's an illusion--if you disbelieve it, it cannot hurt you as it may if you believe," Alys instructs, while focusing on ridding herself of the illusion and looking for the woman who was studying the marks.
