Mars d20 - Science Romance/Barsoomness

Waiting for d20 Mars to be released, I just got GURPS Mars. Indeed this is a good book (but softcover, 128 pages, black and white art of just average quality), yet it details four settings (hard-sci-fi domed mars, terraformed mars, martian invaders, and barsoom mars) plus general information, so all in all it's really insufficient to use as a setting for a Barsoom-like campaign.

I thought only WotC could use the term "d20" in a book's title? Hopefully "Mars d20" is just a working title.
I've never heard anything like that. Although now I can't think of anyone else who's included d20 in the title, now that you mention it. But that's probably because it's just not a very exciting title. I expect that "Mars d20" is indeed a working title.

As for release timing; apparently it's around Christmas. And I don't think it's supposed to be anything like GURPS Mars, which had all kinds of mini-settings in it, including Kim Stanley Robinson style settings and whatnot. This is more overtly Edgar Rice Burroughs, and includes a single setting. GURPS Mars is a fun book, but the design goals are very different.

Abridged from my copy of d20 Future; in fine print at the bottom of the credits page:

d20, d20 Future, d20 Modern,... are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast in the USA and other countries.
If "d20" is a Wizards trademark, then they can certainly prevent other publishers from using the term "d20" in their book titles.
