Master of Shrouds (DotF)

Hi,

Was just perusing this PrC in case I could use it and a couple of oddments jumped out at me:

1/ There is a spell list given, but the PrC advances at +1 caster level per level of PrC, so is this list of spells left over from an earlier version? It doesn't seem to have anything else to do with the class write-up.

2/ Summon Undead - what happens if the summoned undead create minions, then the summoning ends? Are the minions still controlled or not? I'd assume not, since their creator has effectively gone to another plane.

3/ Summon Undead can be used 3 + CHA bonus times per day. I assume that the higher levels of this don't increase the number of times per day, just the types and number of what can be summoned.

Guess this might be a prime class for Complete Divine...

cheers,

Mark

1- I think you add these spells to the MoS spell list.
2- I would think that they are free'd, yes.
3- exactly.

Ok, great stuff, thanks! I've never really looked at them before, but they are a pretty tough PrC, +1 level of spellcaster, undead summoning abilities AND +1 BAB per level. My players aren't going to appreciate this...

BTW, Also just noticed that Pale Masters get immunity to subdual damage, methinks a Troll/Wizard/Pale Master is called for (probably be an epic opponent though!)

As with other situations like this, the Troll/Wizard/Pale Master, IMO, wouldn't be invincible.

If someone attacks it with subdual damage, the monster isn't affected.
If someone attacks it with regular damage, the monster would suffer from subdual (i mean non-lethal) damage. The Pale Master's resistance would be checked first, then the troll's.

There was a certain spell combo (don't remember which one) which basically did the same thing, and, IIRC, the consensus (or maybe the official ruling even) was that the creature could still be subject to subdual damage.
