Masters of Science FIction on ABC

Looks like they are going for the high brow (and probably sort of "preachy") type of science-fiction. Which means the show is probably going to bomb.

Well, again, the series offers different writers and directors for every episode. So, it'll be a mixed bag.

Some Masters of Horror episodes are idotic, and a couple are blatant ham-handed political statements. But there's some really brilliant stuff there too. It's almost like the crap shoot nature of the show is what drew me to tune in.

I saw a trailer for it last night (Saturday), and it looked like it has promise.

Well, there have been six episodes produced... but I think the schedule is only to show four of them. In the usual way, the network started out acting like this was a good idea, and then seems to have changed it's mind. *sigh*

Looks pretty cool. Thanks for the link!

Yup. Reminds me of Twilight Zone and other such shows. Sometimes a bit off but usually interested, at least, if not great.

If that turns out to be the case, I think Showtime would be happy to snatch this back up, and just consider the brief run on ABC to be free advertising.

Maybe, but I don't get Showtime!

Even some of the ham-handed ones were entertaining. Homecoming was hilarious.

But yeah, it's very hit-or-miss. I really liked Cigarette Burns and Dreams in the Witch House, but several of of the others (first season anyway, 2nd season is still trickling into my netflix queue...) were pretty bad.
