Actually, the press release does not say that Hasbro did not get back the e-rights to D&D. Also, it sounds like Hasbro may have had to get all the rights back in order to look good for Mattel. Mattel may have told them that Hasbro had to have their e-rights or no deal.

I think that perhaps 4*4 would be more apropriate.

If nothing else, the lego people would then be able to stand next to each others. (2*2 would be too cramped) There would also be room for a character to move over an accupied square, provoking an AoO. :)
