Again, very true - I get why folks are mad but I just don't feel the same way. I never felt that way about The Phantom Menace. I actually thought it was great. Just wanted to throw that in there...![]()
Likewise for yourself. It's too bad you couldn't enjoy the movie as much as I did.Pants said:I feel very sorry for you![]()
Exactly what happened to me. It was great to have Star Wars back and talk about events that we've been looking forward to for years. It's a shame that there is only one movie left. The movie wasn't perfect but it's nearly impossible to top a classic trilogy.Dark Jezter said:Ditto here. When my friends and I saw The Phantom Menace a few years back, we all thought it was great. We went to a midnight showing on opening day, and when it was over we stayed up until nearly sunrise discussing it. Granted, it was far from perfect, but we still really liked it.

Well, the Wachowskis are influenced heavily by anime. Let's just hope that those robots aren't piloted by fourteen-year-old kids wearing cat suits.![]()
On to another subject that's been discussed here. I've noticed that too much hype can definatly cause a movie to disappoint those who are looking forward to it the most. I know several people who were expecting Star Wars Episode I to be the greatest movie ever made, and because it fell short of their impossibly-high expectations, they act as though George Lucas ran over their dog, burned down their houses, and slept with their girlfriend (that is, if they had girlfriends) all in the same week. George Lucas is the epitome of evil in their eyes, never mind the fact that their beloved Star Wars franchise would never exist in the first place if it weren't for him.![]()
I think we'd have been able to get along without it, although I don't like to admit it...never mind the fact that their beloved Star Wars franchise would never exist in the first place if it weren't for him.[/B]
Yes, life as we know it would be basically unchanged - however movies (not to mention the concept of the summer blockbuster), especially sci-fi/fantasy have been forever changed by Star Wars. It is a part of our pop-culture as much as anything.mojo1701 said:I think we'd have been able to get along without it, although I don't like to admit it...
Maybe I'm just envious that you managed to enjoy it so much.... Nah!John Crichton said:Likewise for yourself. It's too bad you couldn't enjoy the movie as much as I did.![]()
