McFarlane's Dragons

I have three so far, due to an odd occurence. I bought the first at Toys 'R' Us, got home and discovered that the receipt had a coupon for money off on my next purchase if I answered a few questions over the phone. Did so, and went to the store and bought the second for $10 off. Got home and discovered that the receipt had a coupon for mone off if I answered a few questions over the phone...

Sadly, the Komodo Dragon had already sold out by then, so I have Eternal, Water, and Fire. Of them Water is my favorite, followed by Fire - I statted them out as variant dragons. Fire is an arctic dwelling fire breathing dragon (area similar to Iceland), and Water is an aquatic Blue who can use its breath weapon to deal nonlethal damage in an aura around its base while under water.

Komodo is still on my list, followed by Sorcerer. Berserker... neh.

Good news, The new set of mcfarlane's Dragons is out in a lot of places. Ebay sells have them ‘in hand’ and I saw and bought mine at the aurora/fox valley/ woodfield mall Toys R Us.

SORCERER'S DRAGON CLAN 2 Decent enough, fits well for a D&D dragon that actually uses its treasure. Pretty good overall, this should be one of the top sellers in the line.

BERSERKER DRAGON CLAN 2 Wyvern shaped and a little too humanoid in the chest muscles for my tastes.

KOMODO DRAGON CLAN 2 The crown jewel of series 2. The shape is the quintessential red dragon. The production photos show a purplish dragon, the actual toy though is a deep blood red [with maybe a tiny hint of purple] color sure to delight anyone into dragons. This mini will fit the bill for a huge to gargantuan red dragon right out of the pack. Sadly there is no bare patch in the hollow of his left breast, though one might be tempted to add one. If you want one, buy it soon. Komodo is still the king of this toyline until series 3…

WATER DRAGON CLAN 2: More of a sea serpent [and reminiscent to me of the Same Winston creature features “She Creature”] this Dragon works well for a DragonLance sea dragon. Worthwhile for its uniqueness.

FIRE DRAGON CLAN 2 Beautiful Asian dragon, ruined IMHO by how chicken-esque it looks. The wings are not optional to the sculpt sadly, leaving them off leaves an ugly hollow spot.

ETERNAL DRAGON CLAN 2 DELUXE BOXED SET Be Careful, the 1st eternal dragon is being repainted & repackaged and shipped with the other series 2 dragons. The real series 2 eternal is not perched on a hut. The back of the other series 2 dragons lists the eternal as 'coming soon'.
