WizKids is continuing its line of Dungeons & Dragons adult chromatic dragon figures, this time with a new red dragon figure. The new figure, announced today and available for pre-order on WizKids' website, shows the new red dragon roaring at the skies with one arm raised on the ground. The new red dragon design has a significantly longer tail than before, which is also showcased on the figure. The figure sits on a 75 mm base and has an 8-inch wingspan. Both a painted and unpainted version of the red dragon will be available, with the painted version costing $79.99 and the unpainted version costing $59.99. You can check out renders of the dragon figure below:

A Black Dragon (called the Black Dragon Corrupter) was previously revealed by WizKids and will be released in February 2025.

As part of the 2024 rules update, Wizards of the Coast redesigned both the chromatic and metallic dragons away from their iconic Todd Lockwood designs. Part of these redesigns were made to give the dragons looks that matched both their lore and mechanical abilities. For example, the red dragon's underside has shades of grey, which is meant to allow it to blend in with smoke clouds when viewed from the ground.

No it’s perfectly practical, I have Wizkids Dragons of similar size or bigger and they work great at the table.
It's perfectly practical, for you.
I already have issues with minis that drastically extend past the base on the table.

In this pick, the wing on our right is in essence a full additional base wide if not longer.
Again, for me, a lovely plastic statue, but a likely impractical gamepiece, which is its first and most important function.
I know its visually boring to not use these big wings to their full effect. We cant have it all.

The biggest Miniature I ever got was a Red Dragon Great Wyrm that was put out many years ago. I lost the first one (suspect it was stolen when I moved some items from one location to another), so I got another one. That one also has disappeared (no idea where it is anymore)...so...

This one doesn't come close to replacing it...unfortunately.

That original one...was a BEAST. This seems more the size of the Gigantic Black Dragon Miniature that was also released (and I also used to have that one, not sure where that is anymore either...in fact, the only large dragon I still have of that line is the Large white Dragon...which isn't all that large...though in length probably about the same size as this (Nope, just measured, it's only around 6 inches head to tail, the black was probably as wide as the Red one in this thread, but much taller).

I wonder how much those are wroth now?
I have that big mamma, (in its box with the massive fire breath weapon) it is a work of art; I agree with you, yet to be surpassed.
