I'm interested in these three. Can you give me a bit of info on them? Whats different about them, other than the races? What does the Warrior mage get that the regular mages don't get? Which of these will give me the best overview of how the various aspects of the HARP magic system works?

F human warrior mage - she has some decent combat skills, including disarm, and utilizes a rapier as her weapon. Spells inlcude boost agility, boost presence, detect magic, elemental weapon:fire, and weapon's fury. So, she has a fair number of combat-effective spells, and most of those can be shared, so she can buff up others with her magic.

M gnome/halfling mage
Has some decent knowledge skills, and spells are arcane bolt, changing ways (change self), invisibility, mage armor, and shock. Decent with a crossbow.

M elf mage
No combat skills to speak of. Boatloads of mana. Spells are detect magic, light, fire wall, long door (dimension door), and passing (passwall).

I'd say if you are wanting a variety of things, the first one is probably the best choice. She's good with a rapier, is good with disarm (it's a separate skill) and has magic capabilities. "warrior mage" is a profession in and of itself, so the spells are unique to that profession.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm up to 14 characters for my Mutants and Masteminds game.

:)

That's how many I ended up making. I would have stopped at 13, but I had a really good portrait of a paladin-esque character, so I just couldn't resist making up another one. :)

I know, I counted. :)

I was gonna stop at 12, but I didn't have a robot or a mystical character. There was a brief period of time when I thought I'd never stop making PC's.
Then I started writing up the villains.

Sounds good to me. I'll go with the Warrior Mage.

Warrior Mage - decent choice!
Xath is going with the Cleric, and I will have a Monk (Gnome/Dwarf) if die_kluge approves it.

Looks like it is shaping up to be an interesting group....

Hello, thud13x, Xath, Shaman, BobotheHobo, Pnakotic Solomon and Archon!

Sorry for changing my story so often, but here's what I've decided to do for the pre-gens:

I'm going to stat out six Basic class heroes (i.e. Strong 8, Fast 8, Tough 8, Smart 8, Dedicated 8, Charismatic 8), some of them cops and some of them criminals, for you to choose from.

If you'd prefer an advanced class, just post it here or e-mail me.

If you'd like to generate your own character, you're welcome to. 8th level, any basic/advanced, no FX, using the Planned Generation method on p. 15 of D20 Modern. Just e-mail stats to me.

Thanks everyone--looking forward to the game!

Okay, for those who are going to play in my HARP game in the afternoon session, you can now read the Cyradon preview information here --> http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=124483

Once you read that, feel free to ask more questions and/or email me your character ideas and we will see what we can work out for you.

Xath, Tom Cashel, die_kulge,

I am have to apologize for the late-ish notice... I will not be able to attend the Game Day on 4/2/05 since I found out last night my in-laws will be in town that weekend. And to my chagrin, I have to play smiling tour guide for them.... :( This is going to be two Game Days in a row I miss out on!!! It's a conspiracy, I tells you!

Again,

A dissappointed Nik
