Like I am going to trust what WotC says.
If you won't trust anything they say, then you might as well not even bother to post.

I mean, they announced 4e, but you don't trust them so its just a marketing ploy and a lie to get attention.

Oh my GOD!!!
They are turning D&D into a cards games!!!
What's next, Gambling in combat?? Bets to see who deals more damage? Chips instead of Miniatures?
They killed D&D, bastards!

They do. And it started long ago.

Deal damage!
Raise the dead!
Bluff!

I hope there never becomes an Online Strip D&D game [shudder].

Oooh, yeah!

"Four Aces, Lidda, the pot's mine. You're broke, and that means you have to sell you brwhere did all that money come from?"
"What? I always had that pile in front of me. You seem pretty short on cash there, though. I guess you pants will be up for grabs shortly."
"Where did all my money go? I JUST WON A BIG MOUNTAIN OF DOSH!"
"No, you didn't."

Wait, I reconsidered. D&D strip poker? Bad idea! :p

The DnDi tabletop will be a virtual miniatures set-up that'll replicate what your dungeon tiles and minis do at home. Using it, people who are currently playing by post, or by email (or not at all for lack of access to other gamers) could conduct their encounters in real-time; moving thier minis and rolling dice, just like in real-life.

It won't sim the combats or crunch numbers for you-- it's just a way to visualize the D&D battle-space.
