D&D General Mechanics of starting a combat & ending a combat

D&D needs the return of B/X's reaction rolls and morale.

Not every encounter with potential hostiles should begin with "roll for initiative" nor should every fight be to the death.

Morale as in the 2014 DMG - so it is still a 5e thing
