Hey all, I was looking through some sites today and saw rulebooks for MechWarrior 3. My RL group are big Mech fans, and even Bigger MechWarrior fans, and was wondering if anyone could reccomend this system, and maybe some info about it. Thanks.

Well, I prefer the simplicity of the second edition.

The third edition is pretty detailed, and by that I mean, you build your character from childhood on up via lifepath. It determine what skills you have acquired due to an event in your PC's history. The upside? You have an idea of the character's background history. The downside? It feels like you're experiencing it.

Hmm, that actually sounds kind of cool, more realistic. Is the MW 3rd Edition Core book all I need to run a Campaign?

Yes, if you only like the character RPG, not the boardgame.
