Medium Saves

Can anybody remind me what the formula for medium saves is? I remember somebody worked it out, and it was something along the lines of 1+5/9.

No. Poor saves use level/3, while good saves use 2+level/2. Then there are a few products that use medium saves, pervalent I think in d20 Modern. I think the formula was 1+5*level/9 or something like that, but I was hoping somebody could clarify. The progression over ten levels runs 1,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5, if that helps but the formula I mentioned doesn't fit nicely, unless it's something like 1.2 + 5*level/9.

That is, just average good and bad? That yields:

Hmm. Doesn't entirely fit the progression I listed earlier - is it the 'official' medium save progression? It looks like it is, but there are some small changes to the one I found in another product.
