Village of Oester

Price: $15.99
Pagecount: 64
ISBN: 1-932374-05-1

Refugees from the village of Oester have been flooding the city of Calas,
fleeing from an unspeakable terror that has ravaged the northern settlement.
Their faces still show the horror they have endured and their tongues are
silenced by shock and fear. Could it be a plague? Could a terrible monster
torment them? It is up to the adventurers to discover the cause of this panic.

Little do the adventurers know a shadowy evil has risen from the dead to
possess the abandoned tower on the hill overlooking Oester. Most have
forgotten about this sinister force, except the king. He knows that his
family’s past has come to haunt him and threaten his line’s succession. Will
the adventurers help hide his family’s past and preserve the monarchy or
reveal the truth and cause trouble?

An adventure setting for character levels 3-5. Mature content.

Both books will be availalable at better book stores and game stores for the holidays.

Is the module for any particular setting, or is it generic?

Usable for any medium fantasy campaign but uses the World of Whitethorn as a background, this is the second adventure by Open World Press distributed by us. Ed Cha did a great job on this item.

Hal I noticed The Village of Oester isn't listed as pre-order yet (or wasn't last night) does that mean it's more than 2 weeks out? How close to Christmas will it be cutting it?

and in further response to Byrons_Ghost, the things I like about Ed's work is that you can drop The Hamlet of Thumble pretty much anywhere, and the residents are so well fleshed out that it almost doubles as a book of NPCs. I am eagerly anticipating The Village of Oester.

About 2 weeks, if you order from us (our site) we should get it to you before X-mas without issues, I will have Doug get both of the releases up this weekend for preorder at our site.

Thanks HM!

Lost and found...

I've been waiting to see you show up on the boards so I could "ambush" you, Hal. ;-)

Hey, Hal, I sent you an e-mail about a month ago and you never responded... should I sent again? With GenCon SoCal almost upon us, it IS slightly time-sensitive now. ;-)

As someone who is fortunate enough to have read Oester, it's more generic than Thumble. (And it continues the pattern of fleshed out NPCs, though this time it's not just Halflings)

(If you have Thumble, though, you can actually see all of the locations in Oester on the regional map in it)

A bit overwhelmed here so yes please resend.

For those of us who worry about things like mature content, could you spread a little light on that regard? Actual mature content or titilation?
