...that's what PCs have been doing for decades. Scry-Teleport-Fry is probably the most infamous example. But who would like a fantasy setting without palantir-like devices ? Or absolutely devoid of wizards opening magical doors between the dimensions ?
It happens on an individual basis, when some PC finds a broken combo à la "Pun-Pun" http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Pun-Pun_(3.5e_Optimized_Character_Build), or on a collective basis, when the PC decide to use giant eagles to drop the ring in Mont Doom without bothering that much with Sauron.
