Message boards becoming too messy boring?

Are message boards still relevant to you in your game? Do you make excuses to the wife/gf/bf/husband/sig.other, skipping sex to see what new posts have been made? Or are you finding that they barely lift the intressometre above the "It can't be this boring, I must be dead!" level.

MB's remain a vital tool for our gaming group. We only use them for sporadic RPing, but its become a critical means for re-capping adventures, clarifying rules, scheduling games and keeping track of the many small that can take up so much of a GM & players time.

When our MB is down for whatever reason I immediately feel the impact.

Still relevant. I get many ideas from here, ask many questions, as well as pbp games, posting homebrewed classes/creatures, helping others out and enjoying miscellaneous conversations. There's many things that can be done on the boards, so no, I do not find them boring, except for like 3am when I swear I'm almost the only person awake and cruising EnWorld.

I think EN World has become too EN World. I mean, it's not a message board per se, it's just about itself. What happened to ye olde messageboards?

I wouldn't allow PDF stores on my site, it just gives too much power to buyers. On my site you have to custom order all PDFs and they take 5 years to complete. Posters can't make their own PDFs. PDFs need to have a sense of wonder, if anyone can create them with a feat, there's no sense of wonder.

EN world fails almost every aspect of a message board, it is just about gaining more posts, I mean 30000 posts for a single poster is just insane, in previous edition of message boards Lolth had 66 posts and we were all happy.

Before I started to post here, I was active member of another messageboard with semi-military rules and strict order and specialization ("you should ask about feats in feats sub-thread, section H76 only or I will ban you!"). I find EnWorld cool, relaxing and I like it as it is.

I post if im bored or if i have a strong opinion, i rarely go back and see what someone said about my post.
But i find that the general MB and the d20 modern one are the ones i visit most.
