EP, and it's just me I reckon, but I don't feel right about voting in a contest in which I am an entrant.

However, I gotta say, I like the way you phrased your voting categories.
They made me laugh.

Jack7- Go ahead and vote. I voted for myself, since he didn't ask me not to. It isn't fair for me to do that if you're going to be all noble and abstain. :)

The way I see it, if all the authors vote for themselves, then it'll be an eight-way tie. It's no different than banning politicians from voting on Election Day, the way I see it.

Good luck to all of you.

I appreciate that EP and CF.

I like to win at anything I compete at. And I like taking prizes as well. But it's old habit with me to excuse myself from things (other than the work itself) in which I might influence the outcome when I am actually in the competing. Me and politics never got on so well, even when I was in politics. I guess I might vote if the total voting is low, but, well, we'll see. Plenty of time left.

However if someone wants to go here and tell me what they think of my story, I'm not adverse to honest criticism or recommendations. I admit I'm not used to writing stories based on game experiences, but thought I might try it as an experiment and a coupla old buddies of mine who had been to Afghanistan, or were formerly in Intel liked it. But outside of the military/Intel clique I wondered if it had a wider appeal.

Otherwise, good luck to everyone.
Oh, and thanks EP for the opportunity to compete at something like this.
It was an interesting experiment.

WE HAVE OUR WINNERS!!!

Congratulations to both Segrada and Yalius for splitting the victory (and sharing the top prize). Both of them will receive all Dark Emerald products free for life, so if you guys can get in touch with me, I'll get that set up for you.

Thanks to everyone else for participating. The number of votes is disappointing (considering there were over 600 views of the story thread, I was expecting higher double digits for voting), but thanks to everyone for putting in their time. The remaining contestants will each receive a free copy of The Quick Kill, as promised. If those contestants could contact me as well, I'll make arrangements for that.

I nearly missed this EP.

I'll shoot you an email.
Thanks again for the opportunity to compete.

If you think I deserve a copy then I'm looking forward to reviewing it. I wanna see how it matches up with my newly developed combat system.

I'm hoping to use your work as a supplement to make fighters more lethal.
(I've been working on making fighter classes less "just fighters" and more lethal killers for awhile anyways.)

We used it in playtesting the other night and it worked out quite well. It's a skill challenge useful to pretty much any class that is trained to kill (which I think is all of them) and has some fairly practical uses. Given time, I'm hoping to come out with a few others.
