[Meta] How many hits does the site get each day?

I used to work for a large online greeting card company (stupid nondisclosure agreement prevents from saying which one 
) and let me tell you, finding out unique visitors is no mean feat. Sure, there are companies like Alexa or Neilsen that measure unique visitors, but their measuring techniques are, shall we say, sometimes sketchy. (Panels, sampling, all sorts of assumptions, ugh.)
And if you want a *really* hard task, try tying unique visitors to an individual page. Urk.... Of course it's possible things have gotten better in the last year or so.
What we need is for everyone to have a bar code on their head that gets scanned every time they click on a URL. Then we'd know everything about them. Heh heh heh!
