pretty straight forward, highly active, adventure campaign starting at 12th level. Its a gestalt game, yah I know, but its what everybody keeps voting on. The character is going to be full caster on both sides. Player doesnt want Druid or Wizard. Other than that all books open! Suggestions for class(s), spell and feat selection.

She always plays with fey templates & gish based, have you ever seen a pixie swiftblade? but this time she is going straight caster - both sides of gestalt.

She likes cha based, but open for suggestions, good alignment (wont play evil) and has taken to exalted spells feats of BoED, kind of getting into exalted mode, but not sure if she is ready for it yet. Shes a little stressed about not knowing it all.

The increase in HD, BAB, and weapon proficiencies you would get from Battle Sorcerer are redundant if you're also using Favored Soul in Gestalt. Might as well use regular Sorcerer.

I'm not 100% on the gestalt rules- I was thinking in terms of charismatic full arcane casters who can wear armor- does gestating negate ASF?

Eh, spend a feat on Battle Caster in that case. You get to wear light armor and do not lose out on spells per day or spells known.

As I recall, that feat has a prerequisite of being able to ignore ASF in at least one kind of armor. Sorcerer doesnt have that.

Hm, yes...

Still not a fan of Battle Sorcerer for the loss in spells. An alternative way of getting AC without armor is to spend spells known on Mage Armor (Greater Mage Armor) at higher level, using the Divine Companion ACF to gain a Deflection bonus to AC and Resistance bonus to saves which can be up to 12 points, and a Mithril Buckler with Armor enchantments on it.

The bottom line is, a lot of the other benefits you'd get from Battle Sorcerer are overridden by what Favored Soul gives because in Gestalt you take the class features from either one of the two classes, so you'd get, say, Favored Soul BAB, Favored Soul fort, Favored Soul weapon proficiencies, so the only thing you're getting from Battle Sorcerer is the ability to wear light armor... which you lose one spell and one spell slot of every level for. Might as well get full spellcasting progression and spend a few spells on defensive buffs...

Besides, there is alway twilight enchantment +1 for Battle Caster. Heck, she can a small shield too.

I don't think that would work- Twilight is a property of the armor, while to satisfy the prereq for the Battle Caster feat, the character must have the property.
