Metallic Dragons in or out? Looking for confirmation either way

I seem to remember a thread about the 4E draconomicon, where it was mentioned that the metallic dragons wouldn't be in MM1. I'm not sure if someone with insider infos wrote it, though.

What you're not remembering very clearly is Massawyrm's three-part review of 4e from the Ain't It Cool News website. He posted the review around the same time that the DDXP con was on. In the third part of the review, he stated quite clearly that there will be no metallic dragons in the first 4e MM.

However, as I said in my initial post, this goes against what WotC has been saying with regard to the Desert of Desolation minis set. Although they original said all the minis bar one would be in the first 4e MM, since at least the beginning of the year, they have been saying that every single one of them will be in the book, which would suggest that the copper dragon, at the very least, must be in it, even if none of the others are.

My whole reason for starting this post was to see if anyone knew for sure one way or the other. I guess I was kind of hoping Mearls or the Rouse or someone else "in the know" would come along and clarify things. Something like "Yes, every DoD mini is going to be in the first 4e MM, which means that the copper dragon is in it ... you'll just have to wait and see if any of the others are in there with it, though" would suffice. Or, on the flip side, "Oops, it should still be 'every mini but one' and the one that's not could be the copper dragon but we're not going to say for sure."

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Nobody lied. Possibly people misspoke. Changes were definitely made to all three core books over the past four months or so. I don't really care either way.

While I'm excited to see the new take on Metallics, I can be patient, realize they can't fit everything into one book, and don't believe in the sacredness of cows (at least as it pertains to gaming).

It's not all that big a deal for me either. I don't mind if they aren't in the book. I was merely curious to see if there was any further info on it either way.

I'm fine with Bronze dragons going vaporware, but Brass dragons have a long history of being tricksters, which is fun from an NPC point of view.

When scanning the topic lists, I first read this as "Metallica Dragons in or out?"

Cool. Brooding, growling Hettfield Dragons and annoying, never-shuts-up Ulrich Dragons.

I don't think that it makes to much sense to put just the copper dragon in the MM. If all the other metallic are absent, it is better to wait for MM II and Draconomicon II (which I'm assuming will come out in 2009).
