Metamorphosis tag team

Hello,

I'm playing in a gestalt game and my dwarven factotum/psion(egoist) just reached 7th level. Metamorphosis is one of the powers I took, and since then I've been trying to figure out good combos to use in conjunction with my psicrystal. As I read the share powers ability, if I manifest metamorphosis on myself I can choose to have it affect my psicrystal as well. So I've been trying to figure out good 7 HD creatures to become.

Annis hag and hydra seem like reasonable choices from the SRD. Does anyone have any ideas about other sources that might have good monster choices for metamorphosis?

Hydra is one of the best MM1 polymorph/metamorphosis forms. So many AoOs and the wallop full attacking with all heads is better than a full-attacking fighter of equivalent level. Other than that Giant Owl or Pegasus for the flight, wyverns and chimeras are too slow. Bears generally have the best strength for the HD of most creatures and can be melee brutes.

I've spent a bit more time looking through the SRD, and it seems to me that ankheg and digester are good choices for utility purposes...can't get through that door? No problem, blast it with acid!

The more I read, the more I see pretty cool extraordinary attacks for a lot of creatures that I'd overlooked in the past. Guess it's time to re-edumacate myself.
