Cool points - I'll add them to the description later - wrote M and then forgot to detail the material component.

Blessing of Leeches
Necromancy [Black]
Level: (1) Clr 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 day (D)
At the beginning of your turn you take 1 point of permanent consitution damage. If this damage is prevented or your constitution score reaches 0, Blessing of Leeches ends. You gain Fast Healing: 5.
Material Component: A live leech. When this spell is cast the leech multiplies into hundreds covering the caster's whole body.
So here's a spell that grants a powerful ability (fast healing) but couples it with a dangerous disability that runs contrary to the boon it grants.
So, is the risk worth the reward?
OW! One point per round is nasty! Now I understand what you mean by risk. So you can counteract (heal) the damage with things like Lesser Restoration, but if you somehow prevent it from happening in the first place the spell ends.Michael Morris said:Clarifications - it is ability damage - lesser restoration and restoration can be used to counteract this spell. The spell inflicts 1 con point of damage / round for as long as it stays up.
Oh, I agree. It would make me really wonder whether to cast it in any given situation, which is the whole point. It rocks.Michael Morris said:Yep - it is interesting.
Remember Fast heal 5 is very useful - definately not 1st level spell material without the drawback.
