Paladin was originally just "Palace Guard" who would ride out and enforce the king's orders.
Same with Samurai.
Yeah, that reminds me again.
A nonmagical paladin base class. With warlord, samurai, cavalier, the spellcasting paladins (namely the ancients green knight, devotion white knight, vengeance red knight, conquest black knight, and redemption blue knight), heavy armor warrior (heavy infantry, tank), Greek hoplítẽs, and so on as archetypes. This to me seems the ideal organization of concepts.
