Mike Mearls now employed by WotC

A lot of people fell for that one (and was scott rouse misquoted, or does he have that last name for a reason) including myself for a while.

But I had a conclusion I could not avoid.

Oh, well, you did make the call two years ago...it should count...for something.

The GenCon announcement of 4E has a feel to it like WotC thought they couldn't keep the cat in the bag any longer. It would have been better to announce 4E when it was only a few months away, rather than a year, but there was so much spot on speculation they were forced to admit it . . .

My bad was believing the misinformation that was reported at the D&D Experience. Since they *said* (or so I thought) that there would be no 4e through 2008
I dont' know what the exact quote was but didn't WotC say that they had 3.5 supplements planned "well into 2008"? Well they do. From here it looks like at least a third of 2008 will still cover 3.5. I don't see a lie here. Others might take well into 2008 to mean September or even December but that's just semantics.

In the latest wizards podcast Mike stated that he was told about 4th edition his first day at WotC. It does look like it's been a two year process. I am just a little surprised more of the rules aren't nailed down.

I think a lot of us thought Mike going to WOTC suggested 4e. However, when speculation about Mike and 4e was brought up, someone at WOTC assured us that he was not working on 4e. Wish I could find that post, because I fell for it.

They promised at least a year's notice several times.

So I think they felt like they had to live up to that.
