D&D 5E Mike Mearls Twitter-Martial adapts and Artificers

By rights, there really shouldn't be a place for those classes in 5e. They were created in 3e as an attempt to level the playing field for martial classes versus spellcasters, and also as a stealth playtest for some of the 4e mechanics. Since WotC should be aiming to get the martial/magic balance right from the outset, and since we've moved on from 4e, neither of those reasons now apply. Everything worthwhile that those classes offered should really be available as options for the more 'classic' martial classes anyway.

I imagine they're probably looking for themes and particulars that were fun and well enjoyed from those classes to incorporate into the basic martial concepts. I could see Swordsage, Crusader, Warblade all as great themes for existing classes that offer slight modifications in order to create different styles without needing wholly new classes.

I leave a saucer of milk outside my bedchamber every night, just in case said faerie folk are flitting about.

If I'm feeling particularly disenchanted with my day, I make the milk chocolate.

My spouse leaves out chocolate bars.

At least I think those are supposed to be for the fae. I never touch them, yet they still vanish.

Mike has mentioned on twitter that most 4e classes will be in 5e in one form or another.

Also a bunch of other stuff like healing was discussed, no NADS, and a bunch of other stuff.

The fighter has officially eatten the Warlord, Mike said the the warlord will be a fighter option. Most 4e classes will likely be eaten by other classes.

According to mike the "Skilled Classes" will be really good at certain ability checks. Obviously Rogues will be good at Dexerity checks and Bards at Charisma checks, but what other "Skilled Clasess are there?"

I assume skilled classes is just another way of refering to classes that are skill monkey's.

This new feat system could be an awesome thing by allowing much more extreme customization of one's character. I wonder if these feats will come in the form of D20 Modern talent trees.

If they're looking at the Tome of Battle classes, I hope that means they look at the Tome of Magic classes too. I would love to see the Binder make a reappearance!

Me too, but I hope its like the 3.x binder, not the 4e verison where they lost all the creepy distrubing goodness of the Binder class. Its the flavour and how disturbing the visages and the voyeristic way they bind to people that made them interesting and how easy it is to bind one.
