Covering a crowd with lubricant may not be a fool-proof way to PREVENT diseases from speading... It will be a good way for protesting college students find to something better to do.

It was said that it also prevented vehicle movement. Cover all outgoing highways with this stuff and you can keep the vast majority of people from leaving and even with all the SUVs out there how many folks would be willing to get their Escalades, Navigators, and H2s dirty and dinged just to escape a quarantined city?

Gel is only the tip of the iceberg for nonlethal programs. There are some pretty cool directed energy weapons in dewvelopment, too. Crowd-control heat projector, anyone?

I've already seen a special on a directed-sound system. If you stand on one side of the specially made speaker you can't hear anything. On the "Business Side" it'll flat out knock you flat (figuratively speaking). It is incredibly intense and causes quite a bit of pain but is supposed to cause no permenant damage.

The only problem they are having with that is if sprayed on a person it can cause suffocation.
