Americans tend to be resistant to change (witness our incapability of adopting the metric system or dollar coins), and the whole concept of shelf-stable milk just wigs people out, I think.
If the wiki is to be believed It goes bad faster than normal milk once you pop it open. Since a lot of folks buy milk by the gallon rather than litre, faster spoilage is a problem.

Parmalat milk isn't available by the gallon at all. It's effectively the same because if you're drinking/using milk even semi-regularly, you're going to finish a container of milk before it goes back regardless.

This is all good stuff... wonderful feedback... Keep em coming.

Now now people... lets keep it freindly. i have a lot more data to collect. ;)

I love my milk.. er i did once... ice cold. And i tried that frozen glass deal. Only problem is my lower lip would stick to the glass and peel off my lips.... literaly. So I get this nasty blood aftertaste. So I just use plastic cups and stick the whole thing in the freezer. I love it when it gets tiny ice shards in them... tingles when it goes down.

Now i stare at people drinking milk and long for the days....

This is a survey for milk production and distribution. So those who get their milk straight from goats and cows will not be included in this survey.

Thanks for the imput tho, but not relevant.
Hello

I do not drink milk and when i use it for cooking or chocolate milk or pudding i use dry milk that is low fat. why?

I do not lke the smell of milk and never did. I was raised on goats milk. I use canned milk for cereal (hot) and dry milk with adding water to it for cold cereal.

Milk at one time when growing up i thought stunk. I later found when growing up that the milk had fermaldihide in it to preserve it. I do not know if still today or if this was my reasons for not liking milk. Could be that coconut milk and goats milk was all i would like since raised on it.

I never had bad teeth or ever a problem with calcium. My brothers drank a gallon of milk between them every other day. They had dental work need eventually. But mine was only regular things.

I love opening a coconut and drinking coconut milk. Goat milk cheese is delicious.

Nothing against your product however but what the cattle is fed also i believe had a part in it. If grass the milk smells like grass, etc. What could change it? i have no idea.

For me i am now 62 and i do not see myself changing.

I picked name brand, but that's not completely accurate. I only buy milk from companies that I trust have treated their animals humanely. A lot of people think that just because they're not killing the cows that they're treated ok, but that's not always the case. There are certain brands that I buy for that reason, but I am not more loyal to one of them than any other.

My main thing is the expiration date. The further away from date of purchase, the better. Sometimes milk will tear me up right after it expires due to me being lactose intolerant/allergic (doesn't stop me entirely from drinking it, just limit the amount).

I prefer our local store brand (Food Lion). It's not as watered down as another store brand I've gotten. Also like Pet brand as we get that at work.

A problem right there. Without a gallon size it will never catch on in the amercan market. Let it sit with that soy milk in the 'fringe' food section.

That bacteria in our milk is the only 'culture' some of us americans have! ;)

I'm not sure, but I think it has all the normal bacterias normal milk has. I think the lack of a gallon size is due to the lack of a need for a gallon size--that, and a shorter shelf-life after being opened.

I'm mostly guessing, though.

Besides, Americans have cheese (even if it's not very good. ;) ) and yogurt.
