Mimir, are those the floating skull things

I couldn't remeber if it was called a Mimir or something close to it. Its those floating skull thigs, right??

I believe there was one in the Planescape CRPG.

Does anybody know if they have been introduced into 3e and if so where? And if not does anybody know where they are located in 2e? I am willing to bet Planescape but which book?

Thanks

They were introduced in a Player's Guide to the Planes, which came with a little CD that was supposed to serve as the voice of the Mimir.

Mimirs could take many shapes -- skulls just seemed to be the most stylish. :)

For 3e stats, I'll whip some up for ya soon. Unless they're already at ps3e.com.

The boxed set you speak of was "The Player's Guide to the Outlands" - it detailed each of the 16 gate towns and some other curious sites around the Plane of Concordant Opposition.

I don't think this was the first Planescape product to actually mention Mimirs though - just the first (and only) product to use them extensively.

It's way out of date, but you can check out The Mimir which was formally the WotC approved "Official Site for Planescape" before the reigns were handed over to Portals: Paths of the Planewalkers

Do you know if the text was made available as a PDF as well or not ?

I think it was. I only seem to have the outlands Mp3 on my HD though....

For the record Morte (the skull in PS:Torment the computer game) wasn't actually a Mimir, that was a sort of in-game joke (like the "I'm the head of vecna, no really" stuff).

Mimirs were talking skulls, they functioned like recording devices so they didn't really have stats.
Morte's background and history are entirely too cool to ruin by posting on a message board. I suggest playing through the game.
