[Mini-Game] Dark*Matter: Shades of Grey

Just as a reminder, if the print copy of D*M is too rich for your blood, you can get it as a PDF for $5 from RPGNow.com.

I haven't got a copy of the minigame yet, but is there much in there that I wouldn't already have if I have D*M, D20Modern, and the Menace Manual?

Also if you have acces to some of the older Dungeon Magazines there were two or three D*M adventures that might help a prospective GM with ideas.

You don't happen have any idea which ones, do you? I think I have a complete collection of Dungeon from then till now so I probably have access if I knew where to look.

Advanced classes: Antiquinarian and Field Guide
Prestige Classes: Diabolist, Hermetic Adept, Visionary, Xenoengineer
Suggestions on what creatures to use from d20 Modern, Urban Arcana and the Menace Manual. It's mostly campaign setting info and guidelines. Not much crunch.

I was glad that they did an update, because hearing about it inspired me to go back to my original Dark Matter book and give it a re-read, and also to pick up the d20 Menance Manual, which is very good and has a good bit of Dark Matter flavor.

I don't know if they will still be offerring it this way for long, but I picked up the Menace Manual over the weekend from Amazon at 60% off!

Now THAT is a capital idea.

It's a pretty common theory, actually. At a minimum, at the mythological level (ala Joseph Campbell) belief in extraterrestrials fills the same niche for some people as the belief in fairy folk.

Those that write about this sort of stuff, on both sides of the sanity fence, tend to use the term ultraterrestrials. John Keel, author of The Mothman Prophecies is one of the bigger proponents of ETs not being from space.

Hrm. I'm going to be running a game ... including CoC magic rules and, possibly, some severely-stripped down casting classes.

My major question is ... what level did FX become available in Alternity Dark*Matter? I was planning on a severely weakened Acolyte class that people could begin taking at 4th level ... but the "spellcaster" PrCs in the Poly you can't take until 7th level ... were Alternity characters at that power level before they got FX?
