Mini Stat Cards? What good are they?

So I was putting my stack of cards in alpha-order (don't ask, I was bored) and I realized, why the heck do I need all these?!? What am I ever going to use them for? I don't play the mini game, nor do I intend to. And I doubt I'll ever sell/trade them since they're now out of the plastic packaging. So should I pitch 'em?

If you dm, the stat blocks on the cards make the figs easier to use for encounters. If you ever decide to trade or sell any of the figs, the cards are a near necessity. If not, do they really take up that much space?

Most (if not all) of the D&D miniatures retain a great deal of their trade/sell value out of the plastic bags. I have yet to not trade/sell a mini just because it wasn't in its bag.

I use them for the D&D stats especially since I use initiative cards for the PCs the stat cards a good place holders (especially for 'stand-in' minis representing a different monster) even if you don't use the stats ie you can identify which monster is which on the board by the stat card.

I love those little cards. It makes my job as DM much easier when I can pull out a card instead of flip through the MM, and I've used the actual NPC stats a good amount of the time(sometimes with little alterations). Heck, right now after moving to the UK, my minis aren't with me, BUT I brought the cards. They're still getting use in my games!...though I really need to get my minis shipped over too...*sigh*

When I first purchased my minis it was for use in my D&D game only as well and figured I would neve have a use for the cards. SO one day I went through and got rid of any duplicates I had of the cards, keeping one copy of each just in case I wanted to use the D&D stats on back.

Then I moved and no longer had a weekly game. But luckily the FLGS has a D&D minis night once a week. I stopped by one night to watch, and realized it was kinda cool, and was better than nothing. I actually started playing the Minis Game, and had to make photocopies of the missing cards so I could use all my minis. :-P

IN other words, being that depending on how many minis you have they shouldn't be taking up that much room and it would be best to keep them.

I as well have yet to do a trade for minis where they were still in the plastic bag.

I find them fairly useful while running games.

However, I tend to use them on an on and off again basis. Thing is, I usually end up using a monster that I do not have a stat card for. Plus, I have stopped buying minis since I found myself spending around $200 every 3-4 weeks on booster packs. :\
