D&D General Miniatures shouldn't be edition-dependent (a Fire Giant size rant)

Is there a particular reason you left off the Storm giant from your ananlysis?
They are not in Original edition D&D.

GIANTS: As stated in CHAINMAIL, Giants act as mobile light catapults with a 20’ range. Due to their huge weapons all Giants will score two dice of damage when hitting an opponent. Wandering Giants will carry from 1,000 to 6,000 Gold Pieces with them in their usual copious shoulder sack. Note that there can be many types of Giants including the following:
Giant Type Hit Dice Lair is Approx. Size Unusual Characteristics
Hill Giant 8 Cave 12’ None
Stone Giant 9 Cave 15’ Throw as heavy catapult
Frost Giant 10 + 1 Castle 18’ Impervious to cold 2 dice + 1 hit damage
Fire Giant 11 + 3 Castle 12’ Impervious to fire 2 dice + 2 hit damage
Cloud Giant 12 + 2 Castle 20’ Keen sense of smell 3 dice hit damage
Hill Giants are the most common (60%) while the others are seldom encountered (10% each type, total 40%). Those Giants who abide in castles sometimes have additional guards. There is a 50% chance that some other monster will be there: die 1–4 = a Hydra of from 5–10 heads; die 5 or 6 is either from 6–36 wolves or from 3–18 bears.

I specifically said in my post:

That's the whole point.

Seriously, this is getting frustrating, every time I post here about D&D, everyone just assumes I'm talking about 5e. Note this post is NOT tagged for 5e, it was tagged for D&D General. Does anyone even pay attention to post tags anymore?

Is this just a 5e fansite, or is it for all D&D editions, because this is far, FAR from the first time I've tried to talk about D&D and everyone just assumes I'm talking about 5e, or tries to pressure me to switch to 5e.
Sorry! Your post was long so I only skimmed and missed that. Two suggestions if you want to avoid this issue in the future:
  1. Use the 3/3.5 tag
  2. More succinct post is more likely to get across what you want. I checked and your comment about playing 3.5e was in the 5th paragraph and I never made it that far in my initial read. You only needed 1 or 2 total to get your point across.

FWIW, not all 3e giants are Large - so you can use the huge fire giant mini for some kind of weird cloud or storm giant. Maybe one pretending to be the high king of fire giants, or something. Or use it for that fire giant high priest with righteous might.

Also, look for Pathfinder 1e miniatures - the giants are (IIRC) the same size as 3e, and as the minis are more recent, they may be easier to find and cheaper to acquire. Check out WizKids' Pathfinder Battles minis, too. (However, I don't know what PF 2e giants are like, so double check before you buy any PF 2e minis!)

FYI, up to the recent Netflix anime godzilla, the Hanna Barbera version was the tallest at 400' officially. But if you watch the cartoon it seemed to be all over the place in size

  1. Use the 3/3.5 tag
As I was discussing the differences in miniatures between multiple editions, and it wasn't purely about 3.e, since it involved buying a 5e miniature and find it incompatible, I went with General.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but I am becoming frustrated with the overall lack of 3.x players here and everyone presuming everyone is talking about 5e.
