minotaur specific weapon feat

do you remember that feat? which gives you prof in hammers and axes but doesn't give you a +2 bonus to damage? i mean, dwarven wepaon training is a better deal than taking this minotaur wepaon feat. even the eladrin soldier is better.

Well, to be fair... Dwarven Weapon Training was created back when dwarves didn't get a bonus to STR... so it was a way to make being one of the martial classes a little more tolerable for them. Humans and dragonborns could take 20s in STR... dwarves could gain proficiency in superior axes/hammers with a bonus to damage. Their attack bonus wouldn't be as good, but their damage would be slightly better.

DWT is more powerful than it needs to be now that dwarves can take the bonus to STR.

Even without DWT, how many attacks does a fighter make in most encounters? 10-20? The extra standard they get from a minor second wind evens out the average 1/2-1 extra miss per battle. Dwarves and Elves both actually make fine fighters right out of the PHB because their racials are really good for it.
