Mirror Image + Displacement

Does anyone know if these two spells work together?

I read somewhere that the displacment effect only works on the caster himself but his images do not gain the benefit of the displacment.

Please provide your source when responding.

Thanks guys (& gals).

Well, just from the Online SRD, they probably do;
The figments mimic your actions, pretending to cast spells when you cast a spell, drink potions when you drink a potion, levitate when you levitate, and so on.
which would stack atrociously - 50% miss chance on 2-9 targets, only one of which is real?

Two spell slots and two rounds of spellcasting (most likely) and then your foe just blasts you with AoE's anyway...

Well, for opponents with Area Effects, that's true. However, at level 5 (minimum for the Level 3 spell Displacement), only a relative handful of opponents will have area of effect abilities. Besides, AoE's make both spells kinda pointless anyway. Where either would be useful at all, both become doubly useful

Ya, it works fine. Gtreat strategy for certian oppoents, worthless against others. That's usually how it goes with strategies.

If you're spending your highest level spell on self-preservation, your party should be wondering just why it is that they give you a cut of the treasure.

Hopefully the poor opponent hasnt been drinking :-) it is a decent tactic for the fighter/mage (Gish as many would say) A character usually has more than 1 third level spell so I think that cut of the treasure still has a chance especially it is a reactive counterspell dispel magic ( so much for the AOE)

Displacement (the level 3) is a touch-target spell; with it's duration (1 round/level), it's a combat buff, little more. Mirror Image (level 2) is a great candidate for a potion (as a Personal target spell). You might end up putting both on the party combat tank that way.

Hmm..... can Mirror Images grant flanking bonuses?
