Missing Monsters?

Slaps self on forehead. (Again!)

Took the 100 starting at first level and just keep upping that instead of actually, you know, looking at the chart. :o

If it helps, I have a shadow conversion over here. I set it as 3rd level lurker, but it would be pretty easy to modify it up or down a level or two, or to tweak it a little.

The basic Wraith makes a pretty good stand-in for a Shadow. Insubstantial, phasing, an attack that weakens, and if they kill someone, they spawn a new wraith. That's probably why they didn't include Shadow as a separate monster - too close to the Wraith. Depending on party level, you might want to downrank it a little.

Ugh, I now officially hate wraiths. Insubstantial, regenerating monsters that can weaken you with a hit; thank god for the low hit points and poor defenses. They're fine in small doses (or more, if you have a cleric and a couple of strikers), but our DM threw one insubstantial monster after another at us last night and our warlock couldn't hit with his radiant powers.

In 3.5, I thought that the four elementals due to the different sizes they came in, functioned at many levels while the exmaples they have in the new book, well, suck.

The elementals got ganged up on by a bunch of dwarves (the Azer and Galeb Duhr) and their stuff was taken.

Cheers!

I can buy the Azer part but the Galeb Duhr will always be the little rocky cool aid man to me.

I love the new flavour text for the Galeb Duhr (dwarves enslaved by the Earth Titans) much, much more than the old version, whatever it was. :)

Cheers!

Two times ago, my players faced off 3 witches, one was a howling hag warlock, one was a wight cleric, and the last was a wraith wizard. The elite status made the wraith a nightmare, litteraly. Even though it had less than half the hp's of the hag, it ended up taking much much more overall (well, before weakening modifers and regen). I think my players will be happy if they never ever meet one again.

Funny, my players, too, hate wraiths. Especially the demonic acolyte shadowspawn wraith solo critter they had to face at the end of the last adventure..

Someone help a poor blind man out.

I went to do some conversions of an older module and started looking at the old monsters. Are the following in the system still?

air elemental

shadow

ghast

skeleton, large
Air elemental -> Thunderblast Cyclone.

Shadow -> Wraith

Ghast -> Ghoul

Large Skeleton -> Bonecrusher Skeleton (Thunderspire Labyrinth and Pyramid of Shadows)

Pets & Sidekicks
