Missing 'Psychic' keyword in illusion spells?

Okay team, I know I've heard other discussing it, but I never gathered if there was a final consensus reached:
Should the Wizard illusion spells that deal psychic damage (presented in 364's Class Acts) have the "Psychic" keyword?
For my money, I say yes, given that, AFAIK, every other power with typed damage includes the damage type among its keywords. However, I wonder if I'm not missing something; perhaps the "Illusion" keyword negates the need for the "Psychic" keyword? (But that doesn't really makes sense to me either.)

Incidentally, maybe we should have an "Unofficial DDI Errata" thread....

I would say yes, though I would recant this if WotC starts to release feats and effects that buff "Illusion" keywords in the same way that we have feats and powers that interact with the "Psychic" keyword.

There is a small chance this is intended as to not make the illusions trigger psychic lock.

Pretty small chance, though Wizards might actually be practicing foresight so that powercreep stays in check.

One can hope at any rate.

With so many strange things about those abilities, I think our group is just going to ignore those illusion abilities until they come out in a book, and we can be relatively sure they're correct.

Care to elaborate, Rith? If you have other concerns about those spells, I'd like to hear them.

Sorry about the undetailed response, it bugs me when people do that, but I guess I was just being lazy and didn't think about it.

In addition to the psychic key word being missing:
Some durations are strange in that they last longer on a miss. (Phantom Chasm)
Spectral Hound has no conjuration keyword
Different durations depending on whether one is hit by a spell or one wanders into it later

Note that I did not find these, they are from another thread started by Maximillian. I think these were all that he found but I'm doing this from memory.

It is possible that these strange things were intended, but they all seem strange enough that I'm inclined to think they might change when given a final release. But I've always been somewhat xenophobic about non-core material, and I am by no means condemning them as unusable or broken.

I don't see psychic lock + illusionary ambush as any more broken than lasting cold + ray of frost, though.

You may be onto something, in that there may be future illusion boosting feats. And giving the illusion spells that and psychic lock could be problematic...

Nope, that was pretty much it. I've since been reconsidering the differing durations, as there are a few examples of this in the PH already, though perhaps not as glaringly.

What would putting the psychic keyword on the powers accomplish? The damage is typed, so resistance should still apply, yes?

Well, just as an example, Dark Fury wouldn't apply if it has the damage but not the keyword.

Keywords define how powers interact, so you really need to have the keywords and the power's damage type match up.

I can see an illusion that lacks Psychic, if it's like Invisibility or a figment or something -- where it's affecting light but not somebody's mind -- but yeah, if it's dealing psy damage it needs the psy keyword.

I'd treat it as having the Psychic keyword until things based on Illusions come out, just because it seems to make more sense that way. I didn't even notice that they lacked the Psychic keyword.
