After its first Kickstarter project nearly a decade ago the Mists of Akuma eastern fantasy noir steampunk campaign setting is getting some serious love with an improved version that DOUBLES the size of the book, brings full color to all of its illustrations and trade dressing, and sports rebalanced statblocks along with tons of new items, archetypes, feats, and more!

Throughout their travels they’ll fight in the skies above Uso, bring an end to a powerful ritual in the forests of Shinko, fulfill an old woman’s last wishes for her children in Hofuku and Uragi, stop a crime wave in Rimono alongside the bat-loving vigilante Kōmoro Toko, team up with farmers and legendary samurai in Satsujin, slay an oni warlord in Namida, and finally be the first people of Soburin to cross an impossible barrier of elemental antimagic in over a century. SO MUCH MORE happens in the 360 pages of adventures within, and it is a campaign the group will talk about into their old age. Do not sleep on this one!

What’s on the other side of the Great Divide?​

Nothing good! Nuclear fire has consumed the world outside of Soburin and this campaign setting generator is designed to guide GMs and their players through a wasteland of their own making. 2099 Wasteland can also stand on its own as a realm worthy of adventure and is fully equipped with custom classes, dozens of monsters and NPCs, hoards of new items, and everything else you could want to strike out into a nuclear apocalyptic campaign!

Stretch Goal #1: Desktop Wallpapers UNLOCKED​

Originally Mists of Akuma was grayscale—all black and white artwork. Over the years those illustrations have gradually, slowly, and carefully been colored in bringing the world of Soburin to life in a way the first iteration never could. These two desktop wallpapers celebrate that! In the campaign setting book the story of each scene is printed with the chapters they open, so if you're wondering who you're looking at or what they're up to go get your pledge on and find out when the project ends. ☺

Stretch Goal #2: Soburin Ancestries PDFs (Locked at $4,000)​

Made to supplement the translation of Mists of Akuma into the Shadow of the Demon Lord ruleset, this is something anyone making an adventurer in Soburin will find useful. It's chock full of tables that help steep a character into the campaign setting, and each entry brings a little more context to what life is like for any given lineage. As soon as we get past $4,000 everyone backing the project will get this PDF for free!
