Yup. It's already masterwork just for bein' mithral.

Yup. Keep in mind, you can make any armor that is mostly metal out of mithral (pretty much only excludes padded, leather, hide, and studded leather). The mithral shirt in the DMG is really just a representative item. You can easily have a Mithral Breastplate +3 of fire resistance or mithral full plate +2 with moderate fortification, etc etc.

[Mithral Shirt] is considered light armor and weighs 10 pounds.

An item made from mithral weighs half as much as the same item made from other metals.

A Chain Shirt weighs 25 lbs. A Mithral Chain Shirt weighs 12.5 lbs. A Mithral Shirt weighs 10 lbs.

You could enhance a Mithral Chain Shirt, but not the Mithral Shirt.

Well, presumably, he wouldn't allow you to make Ghost Touch Rhino Hide either - adding special abilities to 'specific armor'.

The mithral shirt is specific armor, since it is not the same as just making a chain shirt out of mithral by the normal Craft rules.
